The
THREE-WIRE track system is the most common on the market
today. There are a number of fixtures and fittings that
will work with this system. Our Track lighting system is
completely built around this system and all the parts
will work together.
The Three Wire system track sections are made of
aluminum with three copper "buss bars" floating in a
plastic sleeve. There are two on one side and one on the
other as shown in this photograph. The one by itself is
the "hot" leg of the electrical circuit. The one on the
top right is the "neutral" and the one on the bottom is
the "ground" Our "3 wire fixtures" are made to go on this
type of track. Call us if you have questions.
This cutaway photo shows the connector on a track fixture
turning to meet and make contact with the buss bars in
the track. The fixtures go into the track, turn ninety
degrees (in only one direction) and lock in. Look at your
track to see where buss bars are located. The fixtures do
not "slide" along the track. When you travel with our
portable system remove the fixtures from the track.
(But leave the light bulbs in the fixtures.)
