This Malibu Light is an architectural grade "spot" fixture. Perfect for soft directional highlighting of landscape elements. Malibu fixture projects a soft edge very bright , round, but directed beam of halogen light. As it is a 50watt fixture it is the brightest in this family of JC style halogen fixtures. 50watt Halogen Bi-Pin Bulb is included.
Not however as bright as our MR-16 type. Fixture produces about a 4’ circle of light at a distance of 4' from the subject. At this distance we measured 98 foot candles. (note the measurement is twice the distance as the CL9 and LT9) Use it for where a great deal of lighting is required for larger shrubs and architectural elements.
Fixture has as rubber gasket to keep out water as well as a "weep hole" in case moisture does get in. Lamp replacement is easy and no tools are required. Just twist the front of the fixture counter clockwise to remove the front and re-lamp. Don’t touch the 50watt 12volt JC-Style bulb with your fingers, use a tissue as it will last longer. The metal steak does not remove but is adjustable and the electrical 12volt Fast-Lock II® connectors are connected to the 6” wire supplied with each fixture.
This is a fixture and will give you years of service. An excellent bargain for an all metal fixture. Replacement lamps can be purchased from us or any large home improvement store.
