All models of Hatch low-voltage transformers utilize a soft start circuitry to maximize lamp life. The soft start circuit ramps up the lamp filament voltage slowly when the lamp is cold.

All Hatch low-voltage transformers employ our (ESP) Electronic Short Circuit and over load Protection. The ESP sensing circuit will instantly shut down the output before any of the components are stressed if a short circuit or over load is detected. The transformer will automatically reset as soon as the fault is corrected.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Low voltage electronic transformers must be tested under load with a analog meter to achieve accurate results. Testing the transformer with a digital meter will produce an invalid reading of "no output". This characteristic is unique to electronic transformers that produce a square sign wave. We recommend use of an analog meter for testing with the transformer loaded to at least 20% of its rated output. Most electronic transformers returned as defective are actually good due to testing methods in the field that did not follow the above requirements.

My second order for this hard to find transformer from USALight and happy they're out there.  The price is right, can pay with PayPal, they us UPS and not the dreaded and very iffy USPS, the ordering and shipping are same day, and the shipping time is UPS's reliable ground delivery time...to your door.  The Hatch transformer is what we expect with small transformers that tend to get hot...they fail after a while like we expect them to do.  So..USALight is a reliable supplier and the service is excellent.  I'll be back next time.

When I called the store, they guy I spoke with was great, answered all my questions as best he could (I was throwing some crazy stuff at him) and let me know that he wasn't an electrical engineer, but this product should work. well it didn't,lmao, not the fault of the representative, I ordered "too weak" need
ed more power than the unit could muster. I'm sure it'll work on other projects in the future.

I called needing a new power supply for under-cabinet lighting. My old PS slowly died, and the representative on the phone helped me figure out that I was using too many fixtures and needed more amperage. Now I have the right PS with room for more.
