Given their purported life span and their low wattage for so many lumens, compact flourescents are a great deal, especially these bulbs with their very low price. They were extremely well packed and came less than a week after ordering. Not bad for free shipping. These bulbs don't work well with dimmer switches, but that is probably a characteristic of the class of bulb.
